What are the warning signs that your Wheel alignment may require adjustment:
- Tyres Wearing Unevenly on the inner and outer edges of tread
- Steering wheel being off-centre
- Vehicle feels as though it is having a "pulling" effect whilst driving
There are three points of wheel alignment on each axle of a vehicle:
CAMBER:
This is the inward or outward angle of the tire when viewed from the front of the vehicle. Negative and/or positive camber can indicate alignment requires adjusting. Worn bearings, ball joints, and other wheel-suspension parts may contribute to camber misalignment.
TOE:
Toe alignment is the extent to which your tires turn inward or outward when viewed from above. If you have tyres wearing quickly on their inside edges, this could indicate that your vehicle is toeing out. If your tyres are wearing quickly on their outer edges this could indicate your vehicle is toeing in. Both instances require adjustment
CASTER:
Your caster angle helps balance steering, stability, and cornering. Specifically, it’s the angle of your steering axis when viewed from the side of your vehicle. If you have positive caster, the steering axis will tilt toward the driver. Negative caster, on the other hand, means the steering axis tilts toward the front of your vehicle.
